Jr. Barnstormers Fall Baseball Travel Program

An advanced training program for the serious-minded, “travel baseball” caliber player who desires a competitive and challenging fall baseball experience.

Early fall in the northeast is possibly the most enjoyable time of year to play baseball. Add a structured learning environment, insightful coaching, and a mixture of competitive players who desire to improve and you have the perfect recipe for a productive and memorable player development experience.

Jr. Barnstormers is a structured fall program for the ballplayer who wishes to play competitive baseball with and against players of similar caliber. The program features weekend ball games and a weekday practice. This fall, the Hayner Brothers Baseball Academy will be forming competitive travel teams at the 12u and 10u levels that will compete in the Eastern New York Travel Baseball League.

Schedule:
Tryouts will be conducted in early August (see below) with the first two practices being held between August 31 and September 3. Two, three or four games per weekend will be scheduled every Saturday and Sunday beginning the weekend of September 12. The season includes approximately 15 games and will conclude mid-October. The game schedule will be known after Labor Day weekend as it is put together by the ENYTBL. Game times will vary on Saturdays and will not start prior to 12:00pm on Sundays. Once the season begins, each team will have one practice per week from 4:45 - 6:30 PM. The specific day of the week for practice will be determined once the teams are picked and schedules are coordinated. Please be flexible with your Tuesday - Friday schedules for the 4:45 - 6:30 time slot.

Commitment:
Roster sizes will be kept to no more than 12 players. As a result, to play in this program a full -time commitment must be made by the players and their families for all practices and games. For example, first priority must be given to Jr. Barnstormers over football and soccer games and practices.

Travel & Home Field:
Most of the travel will be local within the greater Capital District area. There may be a trip out of the area to as far away as Utica. Our home field for practices and games is The Town of Halfmoon Baseball Fields on Woodin Road in Halfmoon. (1 mile off I87 Exit 8). Directions

Coaching:
Each team will be coached by a Hayner Academy Staff Member.

Uniforms:
Each player will receive a Hayner Academy jersey and hat. Players are responsible for providing their own gray pants and socks. Uniform colors will be determined once the teams are selected.
